TRO Mannar Focuses Attention on Preschool Education

The TRO Mannar in collaboration with the Department of Education has intensified its activities towards the development of preschool education and more than 20 preschools are operated under its purview in the Mannar district at present.

Twenty preschools run by TRO and other organizations affiliated to it in the district are as follows: Tamils Rehabilitation Organization in collaboration with Mannar Development and Development Organization (4), North East Development and Rehabilitation Organization (10), Development Organization, Mannar West (6).

In addition, it has also undertaken supervision of preschools, payment of salaries to preschool teachers and their training and supply of educational and athletic equipment to children.
Construction of Common Wells a Boon to the People of Mannar

The Mannar Development Organization affiliated to T.R.O, Mannar has completed construction of common wells financially aided by NEIAP.

Detailed herein are the locations and number of wells constructed in each location by the said organization. Sinnapanrivirichchan-1, Periyapanrivirichchan-1, Keerichuddan-3, Mullikulam-2.

Further, 4 toilets and a bus stop are also under construction at Madu checking point and Madu road respectively. T.R.O Mannar has extended financial support for these projects in order to alleviate people of Mannar from the day to day problems they are confronted with.

The Tamils Rehabilitation Organization, Mannar financially aided by Danish Refugee Council has commenced implementation of several rehabilitation and reconstruction projects in the Assistant Government Agent’s division, Mannar west.

The projects in progress at Adampan, Nedunkandal, Thamaraikulam and Vepankulam-west are construction of wells, grounds, preschools, reconstruction of roads and ponds

integration of infrastructure at village level and granting of loans under circular method through the socio-economic development bank.

Further construction and repair of 133 toilets and 7 wells respectively have also been completed.
TRO Mannar Embarks on Educational Promotion

The Tamils Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) Mannar, is to commence a computer training course in MS Word and MS Excel for the 3rd batch of students in their computer centre at Karrukkakulam, Adamban, Mannar. Final examination for the 2nd batch of students who followed the same course was completed on 05.02.2004.

Classes for certain subjects such as English, Christianity, Hinduism, Tamil, Political Science, Management and Geography are also conducted for the external Advanced Level students free of charge at the same venue each Saturday and Sunday.

TRO Mannar has also organized revision classes for the Advanced Level students to assist them prior to their examination.
