Women’s ward opened in Kilinochchi

A women’s ward was opened at Kilinochchi Hospital on 15.06.2004. The traditional opening ceremony was presided over by Dr Judia Mase Jeyakumar. Tamil Eelam Director of Health Services, Mr Arun, hoisted the national flag and the a traditional oil lamp was lit by Mr Rasanayagam, Government Agent, Kilinochchi.

UNHCR representative Mr Ansar opened the ward by cutting the white ribbon. The welcome speech was delivered by Mr Arun and Mr T Rasanayagam and Mr Annay (UNHCR) also addressed the function.

The ward was built with the financial assistance of UNHCR under a project implemented by FORUT and TRO.
