Social Development Scheme in Mannar

A Social Development Scheme has been commenced in Mannar under the joint management of Tamils Rehabilitation Organisation (TRO) and the North-East Community Restoration and Development (NECORD) programme. In the first phase of the scheme, two projects were inaugurated on 27.06.2004.

A foundation stone was laid for the construction of a water tank at Viddathalthivu. The Government Agent Mannar, Mr Mavianagamkunur, the Viddathalthivu Parish Priest, TRO District Director, Mr Caesar and President of the Mannar Consortium of NGOs attended this function.

On the same day at Andankulam a road development scheme was inaugurated.
